Why the name Circe's Charm?
First I'll explain why Circe.
I've always been fascinated and inspired by Greek mythology. When I was around age 10, my history teacher at the time used it as a tool to help us understand Ancient Greek civilization and culture. We did the same with the Roman empire and then, we even got a glimpse at Egyptian mythology. I'm still a huge myth geek and I swear I roll my eyes at Zeus whenever there's a storm haha
For a long time, I was very fond of the goddess Aphrodite/Venus. She's the goddess of beauty, love and sexuality. Coming from a Christian background, I was shocked that beauty and sex could be considered divine. I wanted to learn more. It helped me to tap into my feminine essence and to be proud of my beauty and sensuality. It was liberating and empowering. Aphrodite was my inspiration for at least 15 years and then I discovered a lesser known goddess-one who wasn't praised or recognized but was instead banished and belittled. Circe.
She was a daughter of the Sun who dared to follow her own light. They called her a witch because they couldn't understand her power or where it came from. She was difficult- too different, too honest, too curious… too much.
It's always interesting how society systematically punishes powerful women. We demonize and fear women we can't control. That's one reason why I identify with Circe.
Next, let's talk magic. I love this word because all I want is a beautiful magical life. Although my religious upbringing taught me to fear magic, I never did. I was taught that magic isn't real and if it is, it's evil. I wasn't even allowed to watch Harry Potter!
But... what is magic, anyway?
I use that word to describe those little mysteries in life. When you're thinking of someone and they happen to call you that very instant? When you pray over a situation and it inexplicably works out? When we are blessed with exactly what we need, exactly when we need it? And manifestation- our ability to consciously attract into our reality the things we deeply desire. Is that not magic? For me, it is. All of life is miraculous and magical. I don't fear the things I don't understand. In fact, they inspire me. The stars, the tide, the subconscious, birth and death... mysteries that remind me that life is so much bigger than we know. And that gives me hope because it reminds me that *anything* is possible. No situation is ever hopeless.
In my brand, I chose to incorporate magic (Circe) and metamorphosis (butterfly) because I see magic as the power to create and transform using only intention. Our magic, then, is our ability to change who we are and to create the lives we dream of.

Now, I'll explain the word charm.
I know your first guess is the mystical connotation of the word: to charm something/someone, right? I played on that a bit but it's actually more to do with the other definitions. First, the charms you'd use to adorn a bracelet. I see each of my products as a little charm in my collection. My little jewels. Secondly, we each have our own charm or appeal. Some are charismatic, others are sarcastic or silly, or serious... we each have our own thing. My charm, like Circe, is my peaceful fearlessness. It takes courage to confront ourselves and then to commit to healing and growth. This work is incredibly difficult and absolutely terrifying but my charm is daring greatly, fiercely and with grace.
Circe's Charm serves to guide others through their own difficult, terrifying truths to a place of personal peace and freedom.
Voilà! That's how my brain works. Now you understand the brand a bit more. 😊
